Eliza Gilbert

Eliza is a writer and poet from New York City. Her work has appeared in The Threepenny Review, The Kenyon Review, The Adroit Journal, The Iowa Review, Rattle, Split Lip Magazine, and The Master's Review, among others.

She has received awards including LitMag's Virginia Woolf Award for Short Fiction (2023), Quarter After Eight's Robert J. DeMott Short Prose Prize (2024), and The Iowa Review Award for Poetry (2023). In 2025, she was the runner-up in both the poetry and prose categories for The Adroit Prizes.

At Vassar College, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Vassar Review, an international literary journal, and was recognized with honors including the Ann E. Imbrie Fiction Writing Prize and the Academy of American Poets University Prize. In August 2026, she will begin pursuing an MFA at the Michener Center for Writers.
