Emma De Lisle

Emma is a poet, scholar, and teacher. She is a PhD student in Religion and Literature at Harvard University, where she works on sacramental theology and aesthetics in the poetry of Adélia Prado.

Her own poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in 32 Poems, The Adroit Journal, The Boiler, Colorado Review, Conjunctions, The Missouri Review, The Massachusetts Review, The Rumpus, West Branch, and many other journals. She is the winner of Washington Square Review's 2026 New Voices Award, has been a finalist for numerous other prizes, and has had the honor of serving as the Poetry Chair for the Massachusetts Book Awards.

At Harvard, Emma has taught writing workshops and advised creative theses — work to which she brings a background in Montessori and Waldorf alternative education. Currently, she is associate editor of Peripheries: A Journal of Word and Image and co-editor-in-chief of Mark: A Journal of Christian Poets.
