Kelly X. Hui

Kelly X. Hui is a fiction writer, organizer, and journalist from Massachusetts. She is currently an MFA student at the Iowa Writers' Workshop, where she is at work on a collection of short stories. She recently graduated from the University of Chicago, where she received fellowships from Mellon Mays and Luminarts to support her creative and scholarly work. She turned down the 2024 PEN/Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers in solidarity with Palestine.

Kelly's short fiction has appeared in The Adroit Journal, The Rumpus, and the Best of the Net Anthology. She received the 2023 Adroit Prize for Prose, selected by Ocean Vuong, and was named a 2024 Anthony Veasna So Scholar in Fiction.
