Lydia Hall

Lydia is a consultant specializing in college and graduate admissions, as well as an editor, a writer, and a teacher. She is passionate about amplifying people's voices and helping them tell their own stories.

In 2020, Lydia took a leap of faith and ventured into the world of admissions consulting. Since then, she's worked with dozens of students to help them craft admissions essays that top schools notice. From brainstorming through final polishing before submission, she guides people through the writing process, ensuring that they highlight their strengths as they apply to their dream schools. Lydia also provides support with interview prep, academic advising and pre-college planning, researching and selecting schools, putting together application packages, and other essential steps in the admissions journey.

Alongside her work in admissions consulting, Lydia has worked in lobbying, on Capitol Hill, in the non-profit world, as a consultant, and as a teacher. In all of these roles, her focus has been on helping people and organizations effectively and authentically tell their stories. She earned her MA in Sociology and Education (with a concentration in education policy) from Columbia University's Teachers College in 2013, where she also completed a certification in college advising in 2023. In 2025, she earned a certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). Her undergraduate degree is from Tufts University, where she remains actively involved in the alumni community through the Tufts Admissions Network. She lives in Washington, D.C.
