Simon Shieh

Simon is a Taiwanese American poet, essayist, and educator. He is the author of Master (Sarabande Books, 2023), winner of the Kathryn A. Morton Prize and the Norma Farber award from the Poetry Society of America and finalist for the L.A. Times Book Prize. He has received a National Endowment for the Arts creative writing fellowship and a Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg fellowship from the Poetry Foundation. Simon’s poems and essays appear in POETRY, American Poetry Review, Guernica, Best New Poets, and The Yale Review, among others. Simon co-founded Spittoon Literary Magazine (spittoonlitmag.com), which translates and publishes the best contemporary Chinese writers.
