How Ellipsis Powers Student Excellence
Founded in 2019, Ellipsis Writing is built on two core pillars: Creative Writing Instruction and College Advising.
Each service operates as its own specialized pathway—with its own team, strategy, and goals—yet both share a single philosophy: no two students are alike, so no two journeys should be either.
Through Creative Writing Instruction, students work one-on-one with published authors to grow their voices, develop contest portfolios, and explore new creative terrain. Sessions are highly individualized and led by mentors who have helped students publish in their work in prestigious literary publications and win national and international writing awards like Scholastic, Foyle, and YoungArts.
Through College Advising, students receive expert, narrative-based guidance on every part of the admissions process—from list and overarching narrative refinement to Common App essay and supplemental essay review. Advising is led by seasoned counselors and editors who have supported students that consistently earn admission to Ivies, Stanford, UChicago, and other top colleges—always by telling stories that feel personal, honest, and entirely their own.

Online College COUNSELING & Essay Review
With application counts—and applicant paranoia—ever on the climb, we take a personalized approach that empowers every college cousenling student to tell their story how only they can.
From personalized college list exploration and strategic Common App preparation to supplement and regular application supplement preparation, we ensure that you’re telling your story cohesively, personally, and accessibly. We also work with students applying to transfer, students applying for summer programs, and students looking to build up resumes/extracurriculars.
Online Creative Writing One-on-One Instruction
During Google Meet or Zoom sessions at a frequency of your choice, you will receive detailed, personalized feedback on specific writing pieces, as well as on general writing habits and ambitions. You will embark on a customized path of assignments, readings, and prompts toward lasting growth.
You may also solicit advice on specific or general publication, award, or editorial pursuits during sessions. This may include: identifying suitable publications, preparing submissions, organizing high school writing contest submissions, and more.
Online College Advising Jumpstart Workshops
The Ellipsis Summer 2025 Jumpstart Workshops are fully-online, small-group programs designed to help rising seniors kick off their college applications with clarity, confidence, and momentum.
Over the course of four weeks, the experienced college essay mentors behind Ellipsis’s success will draft and revise a standout Common App Personal Statement that’s as strategic as it is personal. Whether you're just starting or already brainstorming, Jumpstarts will meet students where they are—and help them move forward with purpose.
Online Creative Writing Summer Studios
Ellipsis’s Advanced Online Writing Studios are fully-online writing workshops for high school writers looking to proactively engage with writing (and the literary world) beyond the confines of the classroom. Workshops last four weeks (with two meetings per week and weekly feedback from instructors).
Each workshop has been designed to be impactful yet manageable for ambitious high school writers. We’ve assembled our favorite writers—writers we wish we’d learned from as teen writers—and given them free rein to challenge and inspire you.
