JADE SONG
Jade Song is a writer, filmmaker, art director, and artist based in New York City. Her debut novel Chlorine was published by William Morrow. Lauded as "visionary and disturbing," Chlorine was selected as a New York Times Editor's Choice and awarded the American Library Association Alex Award and the Writer's Center First Novel Prize. Named a Most Anticipated, Must Read, or Best Book of 2023 by Vanity Fair, Polygon, The Economist, The Guardian, Cosmopolitan, HuffPost, The Boston Globe, and more, Chlorine has been translated into four languages.
Song's second novel, I Love You Don’t Die, will be published on March 17, 2026, and their debut short story collection, Ox Ghost Snake Demon, is forthcoming in Spring 2027, both from William Morrow. Their short stories, essays, and creative nonfiction have appeared in literary magazines like Joyland, Missouri Review, Literary Hub, Teen Vogue, and Electric Literature, among others.
Song has received support and fellowships from the Vermont Studio Center and the Black List, which selected their adapted screenplay of Chlorine for its annual Writers Lab. Song has been a featured speaker or presenter at The Writer’s Center, Amherst College, The Miami Book Fair, The Asian American Writers’ Workshop, Montclair Literary Festival, IFC Theater, and elsewhere. She is a graduate of Cornell University.
